Niose reminds us that the United States is by no means a religious nation let alone a Christian one—nor was it ever intended to be” – Bill Nye the Science Guy ®

David Niose‘s leadership in America’s secular movement has always been focused on building a better society by promoting reason, critical thinking, and the emergence of the secular demographic as a more visible force in politics and public policy.

David Niose is author of the bestselling books Fighting Back the Right: Reclaiming America from the Attack on Reason and Nonbeliever Nation: The Rise of Secular Americans, as well as the popular Psychology Today blog, Our Humanity Naturally. Having served as president of two Washington-based national advocacy organizations, the American Humanist Association and the Secular Coalition for America, Niose is also an attorney who has litigated constitutional cases all over the country.

Having been immersed in the culture wars for over a decade, Niose is a key spokesperson for America’s growing nonreligious demographic and its progressive values. His writing and public lectures provide unique insight into the prevalence of social and political dysfunction in America.

Though a sharp critic of the religious right, Niose also goes much further, connecting the dots between various institutional interests—corporate, governmental, and religious—and the failure of human-centered public policy to gain traction. Envisioning a better society where the system works first and foremost for the interests of real people, not corporate or governmental institutions, Niose challenges audiences to question paradigms, think critically, and take action.

Niose has appeared in numerous national and international media outlets, including MSNBC, Fox News, the BBC, and many others, and his work has appeared in a wide array of publications, such as the Washington Post, Newsday, Alternet, Huffington Post, and many others. He is currently working on his third book.
