Jared Diamond is 2016 Humanist of the Year

Jared Diamond, the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of Guns, Germs, and Steel, is the 2016 American Humanist Association Humanist of the Year. Diamond will receive the award at the AHA’s 75th annual conference, which is being held May 26-29 in Chicago.

A professor of geography at UCLA, Diamond joins a long list of distinguished AHA awardees, including the likes of Carl Sagan, Gloria Steinem, Katharine Hepburn, Kurt Vonnegut, Jonas Salk, and numerous others.
