If you’re in the area, please stop by and say hello!

Reason Rally set for June 4, 2016

Several of the nation’s largest secular groups are joining forces to sponsor another Reason Rally in Washington, D.C.  Like the first Reason Rally in 2012, the event will be a celebration of secularity, with a festival atmosphere and a lineup of speakers and entertainers. Tens of thousands of seculars from all over the country and beyond attended the 2012 event (including yours truly), which was a great success despite being held in March with raw, damp weather.

The 2016 Reason Rally is scheduled for June 4, and promises to bring out an even bigger crowd. The rally takes place at the Lincoln Memorial, on the Mall with the Capitol in the background. The idea of atheists, agnostics, humanists, and freethinkers coming out in numbers and marching on Washington would have been unthinkable just a few years ago, so the rally has to be seen as a sign of the increased visibility of the secular demographic. To stay up-to-date on new announcements about the speakers and other details, follow the Reason Rally on Facebook. I’ll be posting more about it here from time to time as well.

New Event: Suffolk Law in October

I’ll be visiting Suffolk University in Boston in October as a guest speaker of the law school’s Secular Legal Society. The event will take place at the law school (120 Tremont Street) and is scheduled for Wednesday, October 7, at 6:30 p.m. I’ll be speaking about secularism and the law.
